Neutral Negative: (K) The danger of active AI ports.
In a room with some furniture to look a bit fancy, but homey, and a lot of doors. Seems to be a Common Room for some kind of dorm. There's a whole bunch of mirrors on the wall, all in varying states of broken and missing glass. There are also a few people in cream colored clothes, one in magenta, and a guy in yellow green power armor. Puma is dressed kind of like a cross between a butler and formal military uniform in cream.
There is a girl in a phone. She's talking about a low battery and wondering what happens when it reaches zero. A few people are talking about possibilities, including Puma. Puma thinks she might enter sleep mode, but it's also possible she would be awake, but cut off from the outside world. Since sensory deprivation is terrible, there's talk for her to move to another phone, but she can't tell what signal is what. But there's only so many electronic signals here.
There is something called an Echo Realm that's a possibility and it wouldn't be an easy jump.
Power Armor is Church from other memories. Kaito is the boy in magenta. Church's radio may need a 'skill regain?????'
Kaito, Church, and Puma are encouraging the girl 'Aoko' to jump. Puma promises to find her if she gets lost and things will be fine and it's very sweet.
Then it goes wrong.
For those just viewing the memory, they can't hear Aoko speak in Puma's head. Instead all they see is the three boys waiting, watching three different phones for Aoko to appear.
Then Puma starts SCREAMING. The world around him gets very fuzzy on the details as he screams 'not there' and variations of 'get out' over and over, at first reaching for the back of his neck before grabbing at the table in a death grip, half collapsing, the breathing and shaking and the way the world fuzzes out all pointing to the very likely occurrence of one hell of a panic attack.
Church and Kaito are yelling for Aoko and something about jumping and Puma, in an effort to try and stop his rather extreme meltdown, takes it as an order to do jumping jacks and starts counting aloud even though he's barely getting any air in his lungs.
It takes a minute or two before he starts to slow down and just kind of let's himself collapse for a few minutes.
He's kind of zoned out on what everyone else is doing until Kaito talks to him and he's got that 'sure did murder his emotions' voice. Also his name is Puma????
Puma asks after Aoko first. Kaito explains she took a detour into Church's head before ending up in a phone. Puma isn't sure what two AI's, one slot means, but Kaito says they're both safe. Doing better than Puma. Aoko is still shaken up.
Kaito gets made into a butler and brings Puma hot chocolate at Aoko's request. Then Kaito also hugs Puma at Aoko's request and it's Very Awkward, but they tried, and then Kaito hands Puma his phone.
Aoko calls him Puma-nii.
She's worried she hurt him and is apologetic. Puma assures her he's not hurt, just that he wasn't prepared and he panicked. She tries to apologize more and he says he should have thought one of the signals were him and she shouldn't have tried jumping.
He calls her Feather and says a few minute panic attack was better than her suffering sensory deprivation. Also this is like a drop in the bucket to the last week, so apparently that week Sucked. Aoko says she's fine for being in the same body as Church and a 'fragment' might have been worse off, but she's fine. Then he keeps being fussy big brother, which she calls him, and talk of hugs later.
Then Church fusses at Puma. Talk about his implants being active and maybe making them inactive, but Puma doesn't think he's ever trusted a doctor to mess with them.
Also apparently Aoko asked Church to hug Puma too.
Puma laughs a tired, bemused laugh because his life is ridiculous.
But Church hugs him and he hugs back because WHY NOT!!!!
Aoko giggles in her phone faintly.
They talk about how a bullying Aoko is probably gonna be okay and she's a terror who films blackmail, but it's done with love.
Puma also said he'd never tell anyone about the hug.
Aoko would use him as a jungle gym and he's used to antics. Both Church and Puma are both totally whipped by this girl. Also Church has suffered giving teenagers the talk because there are a bunch on his team.
Life is suffering and sometimes you have to laugh at it.
