Memory 34
Significant Neutral: I knew you would do this, Meta. I just can't believe....can't believe...I can't believe it. (Revelation 19.5, 20)
4:13 to end.
From beginning to 2:30
Short Summary
Meta is invisible and Wash tells Doc he has to protect Epsilon and they need to RUN. Meta and Wash fight, and Wash gets downed and Meta is approaching. And Wash knew Meta would do this and he can't believe....
And he trails off as he sees BEHIND Meta and can't believe he's seeing the cavalry of the REDS AND BLUES. They crash into the battlefield and Wash manages to not die. He's not sure if this really COUNTS as a cavalry, but...
There seems to be a temporary truce with Epsilon and they're gonna check on the others. Epsilon says they're not his friends, Wash says he's doesn't think they survived. Except they did because of course.
They find Tex's memory unit, and Epsilon demands Tex be released. Wash says they rigged it one way so he couldn't escape. Epsilon demands he unrig it, and Wash can't without tools, and if they let it shut down, she'll be trapped.
He tells Epsilon he'll let her out, but only if Epsilon comes with him. Church agrees and Wash sends off the others to get supplies. Epsilon thinks he can get her out, and Wash refuses to let him because he's his only way out of prison. Epsilon says he has to because he's only here because of them. Wash thinks Church means him, but no, he means him, Alpha, the Director. Tex was someone important in the Director's life. And Wash realizes he's remembering things.
Wash knows her name is Allison. Epsilon goes on how she was made when Alpha was made, a byproduct, and Wash says she's a shadow and Church takes offense. The Director only remembered Tex as someone whose going to fail because Allison died. Church goes on how she'll always fall short and how horrible that is and asks if Wash gets how that's like.
Which is when the Meta starts to move and Wash sympathizes.
Meta starts attacking and after Epsilon gets hit with an explosive, Wash gets in CLOSE to keep Meta's focus on him. Even tracking him while invisible. And gets a few more grenades for his effort.
Then the Reds and Blues charge in and it's good because Wash gets as far as his knees before his vision swims and blackness is creeping on the edge. There is a lot of blood leaking from his suit. When Sarge asks for his help, Wash tells him he can't. But he helps one last time as he hands Sarge the hookline for the Warthog.
He falls to the side as Sarge starts provoking the Meta. He watches as Sarge starts yelling about shotguns and hooks the Meta to the Warthog. He can hears Simmons and Grif pushing the Warthog near him. His vision is getting darker.
He sees the Meta get pulled as the Warthog goes over the edge and hears the loud growling as he goes over too. There's yelling, but it's hard to make out.
Another deep sigh and he blacks out.
