Memory 18

Positive Trivial: Talking shit with Delta.

Based upon several comments made about Wash and Delta talking with somehow York NOT being aware of these conversations.

Short Summary:
It's a montage memory. Starting off with Wash walking into the Freelancer rec room and seeing York asleep on the couch. There is definitely a plan to startle him awake when Delta appears beside York's helmet, set down on the coffee table asking for Wash to not. York hasn't been sleeping well.

Some sheepishness from Wash, but then he takes a seat and starts playing a game on a tablet. Delta asks questions about the game and they get chatting about strategy for it.

Another point, York is asleep on the couch, and Wash and Delta are playing a game of math with Wash attempting to beat Delta in figuring out trajectories. With Wash getting a ten second head start, thanks Delta.

Then Wash telling Delta the story of how the first time he ever went on a mission with York, he tripped the alarm while picking a lock and got the whole base after them. Wash had to hold a choke point while York got the data and it was so dumb.

The fourth time, York is dozing on the couch when Wash wanders in. He starts a awake when Wash comes up to him and Wash says he should probably get some sleep. York agrees and gets up to go.

Only to have Wash push him back on the couch and before York can fully recover, Wash has sat down at one end and essentially taken hold of York's legs to keep him still. York demands to know what's up and Wash points out that York sleeps better when Delta is talking to someone else.

York tries to protest that Wash just wants his gossip session with Delta. When Delta pops up and points out York's productivity increases by a solid fifteen percent after sleeping while he's engaged with an outside presence. York still tries to complain because it's not like Wash could be there to talk everytime he needed to sleep. He had to adjust eventually.

Wash points out that adjusting to increments is easier. Delta agrees. Plus Wash does better on less sleep than anyone else. Delta confirms this, it takes Wash two weeks of poor sleep before his output is effected.

York groans and complains about being double teamed. "Just sleep you big baby, I still have to catch up to Delta's score in our game."

"The score is eighty three to one. It's highly unlikely you'll catch up."

"I'll take those odds."

"You're both impossible. Just quiet down, I need to sleep." And with a huff, York puts a pillow over his face to ignore his friends.

So Delta and Wash begin chitchatting quietly. With Delta telling Wash he knows how to make his eating more efficient, see, there's a new waste disposal in the helmet...
