Short Summary
In the desert with Doc and a lot of growling from an angry Meta down in a tunnel. Wash asks if he's going in or not. Doc says not if he has a choice. Because he is a sassy hostage. This continues with growling and sass and Doc just wants to go back to his wall where he's protected.
Wash calls him useless and can't remember why he brought him and Doc says they're becoming friends.
Wash calls for Meta to come out and the terse tone breaks when he says please and it's very much a pleading thing.
Doc suggests he's tense and Wash could give him a back rub and how a Freelancer getting another a back rub wouldn't be weird, right?
Wash is getting pitchy and stressed and asks Doc about stress management and Doc says the person needs to want to be calm.
Wash is a little calmer when he insists to Meta they can deal with whatever it is he found. Meta throws out a strange device and suddenly Wash gets why he's upset.
